Janine Goodman and Marc Lindsey look back at 2021 in this CircleID post.
Pricing was 2021's big story but a few other market factors stood out. The smallest number of /16s since 2015 were sold in standalone transactions (i.e., outside of large block deals), suggesting that the supply of /16s is contracting. Transactions among LACNIC, RIPE NCC and APNIC have picked up speed. And market demand for IPv4 space remains strong as neither buyers nor sellers appear under pressure to adopt IPv6.
