According to responses to a Freedom of Information request made by US-based technology company Infoblox, the UK’s Ministry of Defence is sitting on £38.5m worth of IPv4 addresses.

12 of 24 government departments responded to the request; of these, only two claim to be IPv6-ready.

Reviewing IPv6 deployment in the UK more generally, the article notes that BT plans to start migrating users to IPv6 in 2016 while Sky Broadcasting is trialing IPv6 with 1M staff and customers.
